Broken by Ellie Messe Book Review

Image
Ellie Messe is an indie author who debuted her first novel, Broken   in December 2017. This was a page turner from page one. The main character, Haley has just moved into a new town. She has run from her psychopathic father and brothers who tortured her from the time her mother ran away, at a very young age. Her best friend Drew is funny as hell. He is constantly smart mouthing everyone and cajoles her into all kinds of shenanigans. He’s fiercely loyal and protective of her. She becomes a part of his extended family, working for them at the bars they own. When she meets Drew’s older brother, Parker. She falls head over heels for him, and he, her. They have some rough patches, but like brother Drew, Parker is fiercely loyal and never wavers in his feeling for Haley. The girl has some serious secrets she’s holding and she is terrified that by loving this wonderful family she is putting them all in dangers way with her family who will find her, it’s just a matter of time.

Review of Consequences By Althea Romig

Image
I had been wanting to read a book by this author for a very long time. I love her book covers, its true a book cover really does sell a book. For me its one-word titles and book covers. If you can tell an entire story with one word, I'm there. So, Consequences, we all know what that is. Claire Nichols is the main character. She is a bartender in a small nonconsequential, (LOL) bar. A customer, one Anthony Rawlings, asks her to have a drink with him after her shift.  Next thing she knows, she suspects that he drugged her, she wakes in a very nice luxury bedroom in a place she doesn't know. The door is locked, she has no means for escape and she is terrified. She must learn to play his game in order to survive. He is very violent in his punishments. Now this is where I got a little perturbed. The author only  alludes  to the beatings. She alludes to the suffering. This is plugged as a dark erotica. Ok, those of us who read this genre expect there to be parts we are disgus

Internet Dating .... An Update

Image
It's been awhile since I updated you on the dating front... well there's not much to say really. The married man is gone, his lame excuse... "You are just too far away." Ok, got the hint, "You just aren't worth the effort." Loud and clear! Met Tall guy. Actually in person. Very nice guy, very very nice. I think too nice really, for me. I am a rotten sexual being and he is... a little sexually repressed I think?  Have no idea with this one, he was falling in love one day, wanting to be the best boyfriend I ever had and dumped me the next (well a few days later. It all happened in the course of a couple of weeks... What the hell is it with me? Again, I would say to the guys out there: Be honest. Be open. We are adults not children. If you can't handle breaking it off with someone with some honesty, then don't date. Maybe its a misunderstanding, miscommunication. After all you are both new to each other. Fuck, give it at least a conversation

Book Review Mindfuck Series By S.T. Abby

Image
Great series!  S T Abby is a wonderful weaver of story.  Love Lana and Logan and their budding romance. He is so perfect for her. He allows her to relax a little and be taken care of for a change. Lana is a girl bad things have happened to and she is out for revenge. He is an FBI Profiler who just happens to be working on her case. They fall for each other quickly and become fiercely protective of each other. She is wicked deadly and he has the law behind him. They make a wonderful pair. She is strong and independent, but damn she needs someone she can trust so she can just relax and be loved. Someone to watch her back for her. It's a very good love story. The mystery of it all and how its unfolded is genius. The character development is thorough and believable.  The changes these characters grow through, yes I mean grow, is a perfect example of what love can do to change your lives. It's a little dark. There are references to rape, mutilation, torture and killing, so
