I am Shauna, I live in the sunny state of California with my cat, Squeak who loves to sleep next to me while I write. Always handy for a pet or two while I ponder the next sentence.

I have been writing my whole life it seems. When I was younger I kept a journal and wrote novel-length letters to friends. I guess I've always had a lot to say. I wrote my first complete novel over 10 years ago, my computer crashed, there were no cloud savers then. I lost it.

My next attempt was 2 years ago, and I completed it in 4 months, put it away to work on other works and started finally reading romance. My God, I hadn't read romance in at least 30 years, but something I read resonated and I picked up EL James' Fifty Shades of Grey. Nope had never read it back when it was popular. What a revelation! I gobbled it down and the  3 that followed. Read them four times in a row. Amazing. Just to get the perspective and learn the style.

I had always had a time writing sex scenes, and I had read tons of books on the subject, but I am telling you, if you write romance and have a hard time with sex scenes, READ. In the last year and a half I have read at least 250 romance novels. In every genre there is. I love the dark erotic romances by Marissa Honeycut, Pepper Winters, Isabella Starling, Jacinda Wilder. Never knew that about myself. It goes to figure though, I always read thrillers or mysteries before that. Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwell, amongst others.

Now I am in the midst of a final rewrite on an erotic, romantic, love story. It has some darkness to it. But underneath it has a boy, who loves a girl and the trouble they go through to be together. It really is a lovely story.

I am hoping to be published within the first few months of 2018.
